Live Your Dream Award
program assists women who provide the primary source of
financial support for their families by giving them the
resources they need to improve their education, skills, and
employment prospects. Many recipients have overcome
enormous obstacles including poverty, domestic violence, and
drug and alcohol abuse. The awards may be used to offset
any costs associated with efforts to attain higher
education, such as books, childcare and transportation.
The Ruby Award
honored many professional women over the years who are
dedicated to mentoring young women and to making a positive
difference in the lives of women and girls. This honor, the
Ruby Award, is named after the first federation President of
Soroptimist International, Ms. Ruby Lee Minar.
Our recipients are from
all disciplines including business administration,
education, health/medical, social services, journalism.
International’s founders and our first President, Ms. Violet
Richardson Ward, pioneered the volunteer work that we do,
recognizing that women must support and uplift one another.
This is a recognition
program for young women ages 14-17 who are engaged in
volunteer action within their communities or schools.
